Bandung's development has accelerated dramatically in recent years. It is located in West Java and is one of the closest cities to Jakarta; this geographical location has played a significant role in its rapid development. It became a popular tourist destination due to its cooler weather, food, people, and, of course, history. Braga Street is one of Bandung's historical districts. During Dutch colonialism, it was a commercial district in Bandung, and it is now a popular historical tourist destination. This resulted in both positive and negative changes. Tall buildings, ad-billboards, and other structures are sprouting up all over the district and even the city.
Throughout the residency, we met many street painters who are still trying to sell the memory of what Bandung, and particularly Braga street, used to look like. This series is an attempt to 'paint' Braga Street and the city of Bandung. Imagining Bandung from various perspectives for the present and future.
