21gr — a visual correspondence, a love letter

21gr began as an exploration of distance, connection, and communication. Originating from a long-distance relationship, the project used photography as a means of dialogue — a visual correspondence between two people.

By scheduling our exchanges, we created a rhythm and structure that turned the act of sending images into a ritual. Each photograph became both a message and a response, carrying emotions, questions, and fragments of daily life.

In contrast to the immediacy of modern communication, this slower process invited reflection and curiosity — a space to wonder what the next image might reveal.

Over time, the project expanded beyond us, evolving into a collective exchange through a photo blog. In 2014, we archived this ongoing conversation in a self-published book, featuring selected works from the duasatugram blog (2010–2012).
